Land transport refers to the specific type of transport. In this case, the goods are transported by lorry or rail.
A full load is the transport of freight for a single customer. This means that the entire lorry (truck) is loaded with customer goods, irrespective of whether the lorry is in fact full or not.
When the freight of one customer is not large or heavy enough to take up an entire lorry, this is referred to as a partial load. In this case, several customers share a forwarding lorry.
At Koch International, general cargo is transported via the CargoLine network. General cargo usually consists of up to 6 pallets and/or 2,500 kg.
A Euro pallet is a flat timber pallet that meets the EN 13698-1 standard. It provides a base area of 0.96m², has dimensions of 1200 mm × 800 mm × 144 mm and a tare weight of 20 to 24 kg. All types of goods may be stacked on this pallet, which simplifies loading and unloading as well as transport. A lorry that is 2 x 120 cm wide and 17 x 80 cm long can transport 34 Euro pallets.
